William Archie Nichols

1906-1980

W.A. Nichols

William Archie was born January 23, 1906 in Walker County, Alabama. He was the sixth child of Will and Lizzie Nichols. He was a farmer, stave mill worker, cotton miller, industrial worker. Like his brothers, Gus, Charlie, Carey, and Pervie, he was a Gospel preacher. He died on December 10, 1980.

He married Nannie Mae Wheeler Nichols on August 8, 1925 in Arkansas. She gave birth to 8 fine sons and made a good help meet for Archie. She was born on November 7, 1906 and died September 10, 1987.

Both are buried in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Birmingham, Alabama.

Directions To Grave

Jefferson Memorial Gardens is located in Trussville, Alabama. On the east side of Birmingham, take I-59 north, to Hwy. 11, and go north. In less than a mile turn right into the cemetery. Head up the hill bearing to the left. Heading toward the top of the hill you will see a large mausoleum. The grave is behind the mausoleum and to the right.
